An exhibition of flowers in breathtakingly
beautiful photographs by
Dr. Harry Levin of Woodland Hills, California. Dr. Levin's
photographic
techniques for flower close-ups
are unique in their three-dimensional quality.
They have great advantage over accepted
doctrine in capturing the delicate
and ephemeral qualities of flowers. Dr. Levin, a scientist now
retired,
conducted research in solar energy and aerospace fields. He engaged in
radioisotope ion exchange; decontamination of fission products;
and analysis
of reactor meltdown.
He developed boron slurry fuels for rockets
and ramjet
engines and high-purity silicon for
solar energy. The Exhibition was at
the
Barnwell Gallery at 385 Spring Street,
Spartanburg, S.C., and was coordinated
by his sister, Marsha Poliakoff, a noted
playwright and artist.
